Pojavivši se sredinom osamdesetih, deep house je odmah prigrljen kao savršena glazbena podloga za zagrijavanje ili afteriranje, ali posljednjih nekoliko godina postao je vladarom glazbenih ljestvica.
Sporiji i senzualniji od techna ili housea, deep house se kreće u rasponu od 118 do 125 BPM-a, krasi ga raskošna melodija i slojevita tekstura.
Ipak, kako to uvijek biva s popularnim stvarima, svašta se trpa pod nazivnik deep house te je časopis Spin izdvojio 40 najboljih deep house traka izdanih tijekom posljednjih 27 godina. Na prvom mjestu je čikaški klasik iz 1994. godine, suradnja dvojice house velikana, Rona Trenta i Cheza Damiera, "Morning Factory", a u nastavku provjerite tko je još upao među 40 najboljih.
